2 years!

Well, Frank and I made it through the first two years of marriage!  We had a belated "engagement" dinner with the Skillings in Macon last Saturday night at Natalia's (http://natalias.net).  Mom and Dad intended to take us out to celebrate right after we were engaged in 2009.  Well, time flies and life only get busier!  It was fantastic and definitely worth the two and a half year wait! We decided to stay in for our anniversary and here's what was on the menu:

Florida lobster tails
Flank Steak (see earlier blogs for my fool-proof flank steak recipe)
Roasted Asparagus
Creamed corn

For the lobster tails Frank used sharp kitchen shears to cut them out of their shells and left them whole.  He then grilled them and basted them every now and then with a little melted butter. Mmmmmmm....

Frank grilled the flank steak to medium rare.  I sauteed some onions and garlic in a little butter.  Drizzled it over the asparagus and baked at 350 for 15 minutes.  And for the corn, I just heated it up!

BON APPETIT!

We shared the best bottle of Oregon Pino Gris!  Before dinner I enjoyed using these really awesome wine glasses he got for Christmas from his "secret Santa"!  They are made from recycled wine glasses and can be found at: http://uncorkedglass.com/
